When d.painter started FADE L.A. it was a passion project to play more culturally relevant music to contrast the Top 40 driven vibe of his other gigs. After a hugely successful FADE birthday party in January featuring Latin Grammy nominated producer El Dusty, the flagship event, Sucia Bonita, celebrated 1-year at Los Angeles haunt La Cita in downtown this past Tuesday, June 19th. Spain’s Sak Noel of Barnaton Records made a special headlining appearance along with Mexico City’s own Matias who has been emerging in 2018 thanks to releases on Worldwide MX and La Clinica records.
D and crew (Ranza, Veelos and Roger Milan) held down the bulk of the mixing duties as a large Tuesday night crowd filled the dance floor, bar and patio. The global bass industry was in full force with guests including Dave Nada, Jesse Tittsworth, Akira Akira, Gingee (celebrating her birthday), Two Seven Clash of Flex Up Records, Audio Kartel, 2Deep and many more. Austin, TX’s Peligrosa crew was en la casa including NurryDog (by way of Monterrey, MX) who joined Ranza for a back-to-back set to close out the night.
The community around FADE is steadily growing so expect Sucia to go well into 2019 and look for Moombah Sessions 04 party on Saturday, July 7 at 6555 (formerly King King) in Hollywood.
